I’m been holed up in my house because of the winter weather the last few days. Watching hour after hour of the Travel Channel has been my way of coping. Today I wrapped my electric blanket around me, tuned into Samantha Brown who was somewhere in the rain forests of South America, and started drawing with colored pencils.
Colored pencil on bristol board, 4 x 6 inches. The real colors are a little more vivid, especially the aqua background.

Love this drawing!! Aqua and blues in general are probably one of my favorite colors to use in my artwork.
I’ve never really been good with colored pencils but did splurge recently on some prisma pencils, the color quality and ease of use is dramatically different then the other types of pencils I’ve tried, it’s amazing. I did learn a hard lesson though–those pencils must be sharpened with special sharpeners and not your child’s pencil box sharpener..LOL
What type of pencils do you work with?

I’m really loving this! Beautiful colors and a great sense of movement in the design.

Love the beautiful blues and greens, swirling in harmony. Gotta go get out my colored pencils now; thank you!
