Once again I am pulled to drawing a little building block town.
Originally drawn with Caran D’Ache watercolor pencils and Derwent Inktense pencils, then edited in Photoshop with the watercolor filter.

This is the second of the digital paintings I did that led to Rick building me “The Little Shops” in Second Life. (See my blog entry about that here.) Painted in Photoshop with the posterize filter added. I guess you could say this is digital altered art because the original piece had no filter on it.

Confession time. My numbering of heart art pieces on this blog is misleading because I actually do a heart-related piece of art each day for my boyfriend, but up until now I haven’t wanted to share them with the general public. In fact, doing that for him is what gave me the idea for doing this project of 1000 hearts. So, actually, my body of heArt-themed art is a much higher number.
This drawing was done in Photoshop originally and I just now put the watercolor filter on it. I love the effect! It was this drawing and another one I’ll show tomorrow that inspired the Second Life build I posted yesterday.

My partner Rick built these little shops for me in Second Life based on a drawing I did for him. The hearts are mine, though. There’s nothing in them yet. I’m working on some “heArt Doll” sculptures which I’m constructing there in Second Life. I think that’s what I’ll put there. If you want to visit for yourself (and you’re already a citizen of SL), here is the SLurl: The Little Gallery of Art on Peace Island
