I helped with the decorating of my friends’ Christmas cookies.  They thought it was funny that I’d use so many silver dragees and figured people would break teeth on them.  I argued that they were both stylish and safe as the dragees would take up some of the moisture of the icing and become soft.  So I ended up with the cookies with the most dragees.  I think they are very pretty!  And I ate the little gingerbread man after taking the photo and the dragees basically melted in my mouth.  It was nice they gave me the cookies in a heart shaped tin so I could use the picture on the blog. 😉

If I had a patron saint she would be St. Brigid.  Some day I’ll write a story about how I came to know her, and how she adopted me.  I never seem to get my act together in time to celebrate her day properly, but I’m getting this drawn and put up just in the nick of time.

Snowflake heArts Doodle Pattern

This started out as a page of snowflakes I doodled one Saturday morning I spent with some creative friends.  Originally I used ink and colored pencil but with the magic of  Photoshop I could cut out each individual snowflake and remix it.  I also made a Photoshop brush with one of the snowflakes that I used in the background.

Snowflakes are my favorite design element of winter.  I found some gorgeous snowflake cookies (with recipe) to add to my Sugar Cookie Recipes Squidoo lens.
